Thanks guys! This was from my orchid club bloom table , it had 3 spikes but I couldn't get a nice composition out of it.

As promised, the little orchid that could. Something happened to the crown so all that was left was a pile of healthy green roots. Following internet advice, I poured hydrogen peroxide down the middle and waited. Maybe 3 or 4 years on, a blooming healthy plant.

Wow, well done, Lucy! Good growing, it looks very happy.

Going forward, I'd advise you to let it lean over, don't stake it upright. Phals naturally grow with their leaves hanging downwards, attached to the trunks and branches of trees. Standing upright encourages water to sit in the 'cup' of the leaves and can cause crown rot which it sounds like it had when you rescued it.

The flowers cascade beautifully if you grow them sideways, or hanging downwards, too.

I staked the flowers so I wouldn't knock them off. My light shelf is a pretty crowded place. Phals are what I mostly grow and have for many years - this is the first time I've lost a center like that. I just counted - 23 Phalaenopsis.

I had to grab a sweater this morning, we have suddenly returned to spring here in Florida. The flowers will appreciate it as much as I will!
A couple of new things open here to share.

The yellow is beautiful Lindsey! And you captured a nice red color here:

That "new" red Vanda is just in your face gorgeous! Lovey dubby
Regarding the cute Dendrobium - size-wise it looks more like the smaller jenkinsii?

Thanks guys!
Gigi, the difference in the reds ( a notoriously difficult color to accurately capture) is the lighting. The first picture is indoors under fluorescent lights, the new one is from a greenhouse with natural light. Also the newer phone makes a big difference too!

Ursula, here's a picture of my little family Group hug
On the left is lindleyi and on the right is my jenkinsii.
I'm pretty sure jenkinsii only has a couple to a few flowers per spike and they are generally smaller across and lindleyi has longer inflorescences with many more flowers. Maybe our judge can see this?

Our judge wrote this in response - 🙂
"I agree with Lindsey's assessment of Lindleyi versus jenkinsii. You can also see the size of the average pseudobulb.
I still am trying to figure out why some one made this hybrid in the first place. It is like crossing a miniature dachshund with a standard dachshund and expecting to get a Malamute or a sheepdog!

The cross may have been made because they happened to be in bloom at the same time."

This is my Lowe's bag. I forgot the name. This is growing wild on my oak tree. Then in December when we got called I pulled some babies from the tree and just put this in this pot with no bark, just water and it is blooming:

I have an update on an orchid I posted in January...
It is Dendrobium Jairak Two Tone Fancy but I cant request to put it in the database since I have been unable to find it online. There are two tones, but not Two Tone Fancy.
Thumb of 2023-03-12/MySecretIslandGarden/6083c9
@Ursula Can it be entered into the database? It irks me to list it as a generic dendrobium when it does actually have a specific name.

Gheri, here is the Dendrobium Jairak Two Tone.
https://apps.rhs.org.uk/hortic...
The 'Fancy' is just a cultivar name, given for awards purposes.
The name should be written like this Dendrobium Jairak Two Tone 'Fancy'.
