I have lycoris and my friend dug up most of them when they moved they had been in her family for 3 generations and i got a good plant from them im in orlando area it bloomed the first year but 3 years now no blooms. i was told the only reason i got blooms the first year her grandma said it had "set" the time and energy for the blooming. now that it has a new home it can take up to 3-4 years to bloom and then left undisturbed should bloom every year. dont know if this helps but lot of time the "old timers know what is going on" It is a fall available for sale.

Thankyou. I believe they are squamigera, though they do have exceptional color. Yes, they are grown in ground. (Z5b).

Mike they are very stubborn if you move them and it is true that they sometimes take 3-4 years to bloom!! I have accidently moved one of mine and it just makes me mad because I know how long it takes to settle and bloom again.

Description in 'Manuel of Bulb' from Royal Horicultural Society says squamigera "pale rose-pink flushed or veined lilac or purple".
" " 'Bulbs' by John Bryon says (of sprengeri) 'Flowers rose pink, somewhat purplish"; on squamigera it says "Similar to L. sprengeri, but flowers larger and more bluish pink".
Also, stem is measured at 18" for sprengeri and 24" for squamigera. Mine were pretty tall.
Thusly, my designation.

the ones i think are squamigera are tall too. but i don't remember the blue tint. sprengeri was definitely blue tipped. but i only have 1. Sad
