OOh...love that Blueberry Tart! Painting is OK....right now I'm working on purple violas....I was going to paint them a color as intense as they are, but my teacher stopped me....she thinks what I have right now looks great....we'll see....botanicals are funny....you really have to layer on the paint....I used cobalt blue, then permanent rose, then Windsor violet......I have 2 dwarf iris blooming....others are just budded......

Marylin, It is tempting to be vibrant when painting.
I have been there and ended up with big dark spots that didn't convey the sweetness and transparency of the flower.
Keep up the painting, I need to get back to the studio,somehow there are always other things to do.

That red primrose is stunning! Jo, I wouldn't paint if I didn't go out to my teacher's studio.....I push myself to go once a week (although I don't always make it!) . And you're so right about the transparency....that's what my teacher said also! I have some dwarf iris blooming....will try to post some photos.
