I love both your philos! Very pretty choices you guys have made. Wish I had more shade. Nah, I would have to overwinter them & that would require a greenhouse & so on & so forth. My hubs & I call those "the begat-ers". Hilarious!

The flower on the Philo pastazanum is surely the reason they named it that. It is red and white, like spaghetti with tomato sauce. Hope to see one this fall or maybe next spring - I just got this plant as a cutting in March.

He's trying to climb out of his pot, also. These crazy runner Philos! If he goes over the edge he'll be into the pool in a week.

That Gingerland is indeed a keeper. Just noticed yesterday that my HUGE almost translucent red caladiums have all "gone to sleep" and what I call my Watermelon have popped back up.

The far side of my house has gone unused sine we moved here. Against the house had been very overgrown Gingers that never bloomed. I tore those out & never did much more. That is where I plan to move the raised veg beds next month. Good morning sun. I was over there planning yesterday & realized that up against the house is mostly shade. Once I start working the veg gardens, I can move some shade plants over there & it can be a nice looking area.

Maybe I'll get the lawn mowed today.

Loving this cooler weather too and more rains but I revisited my plummies and no additional inflo for me this year. I just hope they do not decide too make inflos winter time because the blooms may not make it if we have cold winter. (I don't bring them inside just in the covered unscreened blah patio and they get morning sun.)

My outside Dendrobiums are showing off. Several are blooming but I just realized I have only 3 varieties that survived my neglect. I had 7 varieties at one time.

They do look great, Gigi. Are those the Den's roots on the plummie stem in the first picture? Wow, I think I might try that!

I'll bet that one gets watered nearly every day, though?

Here's one of mine I've had for a couple of years. It's given me a flower here and a flower there before, but finally put on a real show. Phew! These ones are scented at night, and it sure smells nice out there in my pool cage in the evenings.

In my garden - Water puddles!!!!!
Pretty quiet out there. Any pics I would take would just show the rain coming down!!!!

Attempting to get my Fall Garden planted but the rain keeps falling. Supposedly tomorrow & Thur will be nice. If so, tomato plants are going in the ground.

Seems like there is never enough time to get all the garden tasks done..

Im in lust with the white orchid. So pretty.

Looks like a little sun. My yard could not be more of a mess. I grabbed a big weed this morning and it gave way and I went arss over tea kettle when that thing popped out of the ground. Ive got tree trash everywhere, little and medium limbs. I did however, get all my daylilies planted that came in the mail. Did that in the rain yesterday. I was determined not to loose any to my dallying.

Wed. is Alachua day. Going to look for some decent planting medium while im out. I hate to think Im going to have to have pine fines and sand delivered and build my own. I love this time of the year, it gives me hope if I do my thing in the yard, I should have a decent spring garden. If I leave all this for the spring, its just too overwhelming.

Right with you there, Pam. As soon as the weather moderates my energy for cleaning up returns. I even have found someone who will help me out a little bit, for an hourly rate. You notice I always post close-up pictures of my plants. If I backed up and showed a view you'd all be shocked.

Little Rex begonia that I have propagated from a pot from HD a couple of years ago is blooming. Variegated bougainvillea also in bloom.

Again - water puddles. Over 3" in 2 hrs yesterday. Luckily it waited till I got the yard mowed. Weeds are still happily growing. I've been quickly pulling Chamberbitter & leaving the rest for a dry day so I can sit & pull. Looks like early next week may be a good opportunity.

Still trying to get my tomatoes into the dirt. My kale & carrots are coming up thru the pine straw. And I need to go get more pine straw!!!!!!
Fun just never ends.

It's almost as big as my hand. The predominant flower color of these trees is pink so I am pleased to have gotten something a bit different...
