Sonoma rosy future, I really need to move this but hit a bumble bee hive intertwined in the roots when I tried to move it a couple years ago.

New millennium again, survived the heavy all day rain yesterday. It got such a lovely fade and a lovely fragrant. :)

LG, thank you for the acorn. You're very kind & thank you for encouraging me not to give up on Caroline Constabel & her thrip issues! I sprayed again with super insecticidal soap w/Spinosad & it worked!

All my Itohs have small blooms this yr due to our cold winter but not Scrumdidleyumptious. She has over 50 buds & has been my best performer. I love her translucent blooms. Her blooms usually stand up above the foliage but it's cold today in 50's.

I am so in love with Mikasa. It is currently my favorite Itoh peony. Its color is so unique and looks similar to David Austin's Pat Austin's rose but without the thorns. I had been looking for Mikasa for years in my local garden centers and places where they offered Monrovia plants but I could not find it anywhere. Just about giving up on it, then boom, out of the blue LG sent me a root. It was the most wonderful surprise. Now that I get to experience the flowers in person, I must say it is even more beautiful in person than in pics. It is a winner and keeper, if coppery color is your thing. Helen, I hope that you can find it.

Teri, I love the shade and color of your CC. I wish my CC blooms like yours. But this year, it is more cream than peach. I agree with you about Scrum. It is also my best itoh bloomer this year.

My first contribution to this thread came to me as Singing in the Rain from Wayside Gardens, a long time ago. Seeing those posted in this thread and in the database here, it may not be...

Do I need Garden Treasure with Bartzella? I'm also looking at Hillary and First Arrival.

Cattleya fan, I actually think Garden Treasure outperforms Bartzella, at least it does here. There are more blossoms per plant. It is a little bit shorter but very much worth growing.

Keep 'em coming! My peony season is just about over.
Thanks for all of the Scrum pictures!

cattleyafan2023 - I've seen both Garden Treasure and Bartzella in a nearby garden, and they look very similar to me. I have Bartzella and will not be adding Garden Treasure. The yellow itoh's also only seem to last a few days in a vase, but Vanilla Schnapps lasted a week.

Here is Cora Louise. Her blooms are large but they seem to come and go quickly. This is near Keiko, which has put on a show for over 3 weeks.

No ID Itoh in a garden nearby. This is the third season I've watched this little plant and the second it has bloomed. Last year it put up one odd looking bloom like the one in the top of this picture. This year it put up both yellow blooms and pink blooms. It is marked Morning Lilac, Confused .

New Millenium again, I am very happy with the performance this year and glad I don't have to stake any itohs. Hilarious!

Karen, thank you for the acorn! I hope your Caroline Constabel improves next year. I'm attaching a photo of a 2nd CC in backyard, smaller blooms & bush. Sweet owner of the nursery I purchased Ms Thrip in frontyard gave me this replacement. Now I need to get Mikasa after seeing yours.
Hawkeye, my Singing in the Rain opens more orange than yours. One bloom peaking out so far...
Cattleyafan, love your Bartzella with the purple irises!

Any other experiences with Cora Louise? I've seen it in a garden here, but blooms were low.

LC takes time to establish, but is magnificent once mature. It is not as high as other Itohs and blooms come almost at once as Shelby55 mentioned. Unless another white Itoh with similar appearance and longer bloom period comes to the market it is a keeper for me. Planted 2 in the front row.

Cora Louis took a few years to establish here. I think it might be a Little shorter than Bartzella. Very inexpensive to get these days. I think I saw a four pack of them at Costco, bare root , this spring.

I've had so many off flowers this year Teri. Not even from 1st time bloomers. I wonder if it was all the temperature fluctuations (much greater than usual).

Gorgeous blooms! Love your New Millennium Helen!

Teri, that's the first time I've seen CC bloom creamy white! Love it!
