Tomorrow I am planning on planting out those cucumber and melon seedlings that I bought in the nursery. My own that I started from seed have come up but they are tiny. They have to wait.

I took some Camilla Cucumber Seeds that I had and planted them in a reused veggie thingy I put potting mix in. I have planted them afew days ago but I put them out today to get sunshine and some bird pecked some of the tiny seedlings to death. So I decided to start more.

Rita, I have pea vine envy!

Are the curly tendrils of 'Sugar Lace II' intended to be edible as stir-fry delicacies?

I've read about snow pea / snap pea varieties bred for continuous cuttings of the tendrils and top leaves.

I don't know but they sure look like they would make a great stir fry! I bought this kind because of the claim of outstanding pod production. We will see.

If it is 60's near 70 during the day and 50-52 at night is it warm enought to plant out my eggplant? They are going in big pots. Zucchini was planted out already long ago.

I'm not sure, Rita. I grew them once, in the ground, but I think I waited till the third week in June to plant them out. In your zone, you just might be okay.

I planted out a half-dozen or so seedlings of Broccoli 'Di Cicco' and Long Island Improved Brussels sprouts today. Also planted seedlings in my Cosmos Corner...this year they're Pink Popsock.

My previously planted broccoli and peas are just sort of hanging out -not doing much for new growth, at least not where I can see it. The critters have stopped eating it however...the Plantskyyd seems to be working! Hurray!

All other seeds are sprouted and just waiting for rain, I think.

Glad to hear that you're drying out, Vic. Hurray! Are you encouraging it to move up this way? Whistling ....please? Green Grin!

Yes, too much rain is no good.

My brocoli is doing really well, seems to love the weather we have been having.

I would be MORE than happy to share the rain we've had. A week ago we got almost 4 inches and it rained non-stop on Sunday. My rain gauge goes to 5" and it was overflowing Monday morning. My annual bed was under water Crying

Beautiful photo's Rita - I just planted cucumbers, beans, and watermelon on Saturday. My sugar snap peas are about 3 feet high.

I'm adding 'Sugar Lace II' to my "try these someday" list, so I can see if I like the tendrils. I'd hate to grow a variety for tendrils only, then not like them!

So today I planted my Burpless Cucumber seedlings and also my Sugar Cube Melon seedlings that I had bought at the nursery. Now I have to go water. Still plenty of room left for those that I am starting from seed myself.

Oh, my mail came late or I just noticed it late but anyway my WHITE ACRE Southern Peas are here. Gosh, they are small. I kinda thought they would be bigger. I planted cowpeas once but that was years and years and years ago. Now I have totally forgotten. Will have to google growing southern peas before I plant them.

Watered all my veggies and mixed up some of my favorite water soluble fertizer and did all the tomatoes and the peppers. Tomorrow it is supposed to rain, but the directions say make sure the soil is moist before doing the fertilizer so I watered. Done now.

Rita, you can probably plant out your eggplant. If it's too cool they'll just not grow for awhile. We always put row cover on ours because of flea beetles, but you might not have that problem.

You sure are keeping busy with your garden. Everything looks great.

We have grown cow peas. They are a lot like pole beans in that they have Curley tendrils. I don't know that we ate them though. May have used foe animals. I think we grew them to improve the soil.

We are heading home tomorrow morning. Long drive but we have had a very good visit with my family and I even got to help my daughter, Jennifer plant some things, that is, AFTER we went nursery hopping! OMG! how an I going to fit everything in? Lots of annuals that I have no luck starting, lantana, calibrocha, wave petunias, and so on. Guess I'll have to leave some clothes if necessary cause the plants are going. Hilarious!

Arlene, at least you had a good visit with family. Thumbs up

I am going to wait on the cowpeas as I want to plant them were they will grow, not do transplants. Same for the beans.

Thanks for the heads up on the Eggplant. Might be able to plant it after dinner. If not then tomorrow.

And I do like to keep busy in the garden. I would just go nuts without my garden.

I quickly planted 3 of the Eggplants as the pots were ready. Then I realised that the rest of the pots where not ready so I left those to do tomorrow., Didn't feel like fussing with it tonight.

Great day yesterday, nothing today as it is raining too much to go out there. The rain is good though, the garden needs it. Whatever I was going to do out there though is not getting done today. Good that I fertilizered my tomato and pepper seedlings yesterday. Now the rain will water it all in. Hope the slugs are not getting at my cukes and melons that I planted yesterday.
