Ordered seeds at Burpee because they have that $2.00 flate rate shipping. Got Sweet Sucess Burpless cucumbers. Will save them for next year. Also got 2 types of yellow summer squash. Golden Egg Hybrid and Summer Saffron. Both are non crookneck types. Golden Egg really does have an oval shape and the other is just typical squash or zucchini shape. I have been reading about planting squash for a fall harvest but not sure if they mean summer squash or those hard shelled vining types. I don't want to grow the winter squash, I don't really like winter squash.

Wow, Rita, everything looks fabulous! You really get a lot into your space.

You can plant summer squash late summer. Count back days of maturity from your first frost date and plant a couple of weeks BEFORE that.

Can you tell me again the type of peas you are growing, please? Not the new ones you did, the ones you always do. I think I may try them this fall.

Nothing compaired to your farm Arlene but it pleases me. And I only have a surburban yard which already was taken over by flowerbeds. The only space I really had was the lawn between my house and driveway. Fortunatly it is a very sunny part of the yard.

I might try the squash as a fall crop along with my usual fall crop of peas. Thanks! I would do a second crop of cucumbers for fall also but I don't have any where to plant them. Unless I rip out the first crop and plant in the same place.

Super Sugar Snap. I grow Super Sugar Snap each year.

Thanks for the info, Rita. It's hard to do a second crop of cukes unless you have a greenhouse. Season's not long enough. Unless you plant, say, four now and then four in a couple of weeks so you have a bit of a staggered crop.

I would love to be able to grow them and have in the winter time. I think unless I had a HEATED greenhouse, it wouldn't work. and maybe would need lights to supplement. That's not happening.

No, cukes don't like cool weather. Not like cabbage family and peas. But I know they do grow cukes in greenhouses as they now have these all female varieties that don't need to be pollinated. I am growing one called Camilla this year. But of course, mine is outside.

I planted two more tomato plants today and weeded the strawberries! Rolling on the floor laughing I know it doesn't seem like much, but with today's schedule I was lucky to get that much done.

My peas are still alive Hilarious! -they're growing some, but I think they want rain.

Who's eating peas from their garden now?

I don't know, it sounds like enough accomplished to me. We've had a couple peas but the main crop is just starting to bloom.

Oh, yum. It won't be long then, will it? Smiling

I'm planning to harvest the rest of my over-wintered spinach tomorrow. It's getting ready to bolt. Nice big plants though, and I'm tickled that I've finally found a way to grow it that works here.

I have never had a lot of luck with spinach, but we did the same, planted last fall and got some late and then some this spring.

Is anyone else having trouble with the home page? My Internet was down earlier but everything else seems to be working. Just kind of a pain having to go to Forums every time
