Some black caterpillars, about 2" long, have been eating some of my amaryllis leaves. Does anybody have an idea what moth they are associated with?

Edit: These caterpillars are hairy things.
Maybe it takes a long time to grow, but remember that if nobody plants it, nobody has it.

I will get one when the next one attacks and I find it. This is on some plants that I don't see every day.

I found a cheaper method. We have here some blue liquid that mostly used to wash windows, mirrors etc. It contain mostly water + alcohol + surfactant. A lot of this pests are dying when touching this liquid.

Are you overrun with them? Rather than spraying stuff, can you simply pluck them off and relocate? Maybe where there are some hungry birds or chickens?
