Some black caterpillars, about 2" long, have been eating some of my amaryllis leaves. Does anybody have an idea what moth they are associated with?

Edit: These caterpillars are hairy things.
Maybe it takes a long time to grow, but remember that if nobody plants it, nobody has it.
