Yep today.I am also not liking the dormants. June and July are really popping in my gardens.By Aug. I am tired of the heat,weeds,deadheading.
Fall can start now and bring on the mums of which I have 1 plant.Tomatoes too.

Oddly, I haven't seen any Goldenrod blooming here yet. Seems it typically starts in July, and certainly by this time in August.

They are really short, maybe a foot, foot and a half. I never had these before. I will have to see on a done flower if I can find the seeds before the Goldfinches eat them. Goldfinches love the seeds of cosmos. Anyway these are called Cosmic Red Cosmos.

The perennials bloom well into winter and are green all year. They also self sow here.

There have been frost warnings for the higher elevations ,but none here.
Verycold nights with temps in the mid 40's.
I wouldnt be surprised at anything within the next 2 weeks.

Those are Heirloom collection from One Stop Poppy Shope.
OR if they are salmon colored, thats Venus. All are somnifariums. Thats the variety I have the best luck with.

JoAnn those are gorgeous! I finally had some luck with poppies this year... mainly these purple ones, although I sowed a bunch of different types.

It takes a couple of years for poppies to reseed in the same spot. Then they are massed and beautiful.
