You will getm hoocked. They need a lot of room to really show off. I had no idea ,and had to move 3 due to lawnmower interferance.
Here it is with real sun on it.

Gorgeous! I had a few poppies show up as reseeders from last year, and they're such a beautiful surprise! No luck establishing perennial ones, but I'll take annual surprises!

Kelly, I've tried for years to get some perennial Poppies going, and have had a lot of failures too. Finally I've got a couple that are thriving, an orange double one from a DG member, and a peach one from KimM. The orange double had one bloom last year, and this year had several. Last years single bloom gave rise to several seedlings too, which has me extra excited! I've tried for years to start them from seed, with no luck. The peach one hasn't bloomed, but looks healthy and bigger than last year, so I'm pretty sure I'll see blooms next year, I can't wait to see that one!

I'd like to get Patty's Plum, Royal Wedding, and a true pink one. I guess while I'm at it I need a good red one too, LOL. I wonder where the best place to get them is? Maybe Bluestone?

Love the combo of the baptisia and the sib, Jo! I'm going to have to copy that. I bet that would be really pretty with the yellow baptisia and the yellow sibs, too.

I'll look into that. It has been fiercely windy here. Today its calm. I'll get more pix of plants standing still.

Poppies are dying.
I was checking for opening poppies and noticed parts of plants dying, turning brown and dry with bud going black.
Is thei caused by too little aircirculation?
I tried to see if the roots had a bug but they just look a bit rotted.

What kind of Poppies Jo Ann? Orientals tend to disappear pretty quickly after blooming for me, do you think they may just be going dormant? Does seem a bit early though.

Not going dorment Neal.
None of the buds are fully open.Just parts of each plant. My thinking os also they are gathered in a support thats too small.
I will have to move a few of these because they are too close to the edging.
Love this one just opening and no rot or die off.

You've got so many lovely Poppies! How many are showing those symptoms? It does sound like it may be an air circulation issue, they do seem to prefer dry conditions over wet or humid conditions.

Guess the constant rain and cool damp weather is at fault then. Not a thing I can do about it.Thanks Neal
