I agree Ginny. Just hoping the AC does not have any issues like last year. Crying

We have automatic irrigation on in TX. The actual temperatures are not that bad with the high humidity plus lots of trees in the yard.

Thanks, Dave. Your Texas home must be in the Hill Country? Thinking that because there are trees. Big help!

Yesterday was supposed to be rounds of showers and thunderstorms, so I ducked out during a clear spell to put down the last two bags of mulch. Later saw neighbors mowing and finally decided grass really needed it, and since it wasn't raining yet took a chance and mowed. Today was supposed to be mostly clear, but it rained, rained again, and then we had a big thunderstorm where it poured - today would have been my normal mow day, but I'm awfully glad I got it done yesterday. Lots of big thunderstorms in tomorrow's forecast.

Use to love it when a rain came after mowing, Wendy.
It is 109 here now according to the weather channel. When it gets that hot 🥵 the sun on my skin just has a different feel to it I noticed when I was outside. Just a searing feeling.

My rain gage said I got an inch and a half of rain last night. Things have been so dry, I'm not sure how much help it will be, but I was relieved to see it.

Hurray! for your rain Tim!

Oh no Linda, those temps are just awful. Group hug Sure hope you don't have any problem with the ac!

Sunny all day with a few large puffy clouds. Humidity was in the 90's this morning then dropped to 59. This evening it's climbing back up, 76% now. Temps were 65 & 85. The ac is on and a little brownie sundae is sounding like a good bedtime snack Smiling

It was brutal here today. It reached 89 with 86 percent humidity, so it felt a lot hotter. And I was mulching the sunniest, hottest part of my yard! What am I, crazy? No, just trying to get it all done before the real bloom season starts. I'm so late this year! Well, I almost finished Middle Daylily Hill. I'll finish tomorrow and as much of Back Daylily Hill as I can stand. At least that part of the yard is mostly shady until afternoon.

Going down to 67 tonight. My air is not on, I somehow feel that I need to be acclimating.

63/67F cloudy with some chance of rain. The severe storm stuff yesterday amounted to 10 minutes of wind and enough rain to drip off the roof...not enough to matter. The cloud front did look ominous, however. D'Oh! Sighing!

It is raining again, and we got another 1.5 inches last night. I wish I had kept track of the rain total over the past week or so. The yard is so soggy we haven't been able to cut our grass, and it needs cutting!

It is too wet to weed, edge, or mulch--all jobs I need to get at.

Rained overnight again, and we have severe storms in the forecast later. Went out to take care of a handful of maintenance task and was overwhelmed by the heat and high humidity that has taken over - that and the pressure changes are playing havoc with my stamina.

With the high winds forecast I will need to remember to move the pots on the deck to a more sheltered spot.

Yeah, yesterday was tough here too, today is a lot better still humid as all get out. My app says the realfeel is 90. And it is still much better than yesterday! Technically it's only 80 degrees. But there's a tiny breeze, I was just chased in by pouring rain but it seems to be done now. Although, my app says rain at 3:00 and 5:00. It didn't happen to mention the 1:45 part!

There will be on and off rain through Wednesday and getting cooler too. Better for me, maybe not better for the Daylilies. Going down to 70 tonight

We just had quite a T-storm cell pass through with a wall of water and small hail. After two months of next to no rain, we are now getting storms moving through every day. I mowed the grass today after at least a 3 week hiatus where it was crunchy and brown.

After the storm cell moved through I went outside and heard this strange rushing sound. It took me a moment to realize it was the creek across the street which was transformed it a torrent.

My front garden (and mowed grass Smiling )

Enjoyed the garden images Ginny and Jill! Everything looks so pretty.

Having the same issue here Wendy. The humidity makes everything you do take three times longer. Yesterday I did a lot of little catch-up projects and went back to weeding this morning...sweat dripping the whole time. It's like being in a sauna.

Cloudy with off and on breaks of sun that only made the temp and steam rise. T-storms were all around us with downpours that took out roads and driveways. We only got a brief shower with a few rumbles. We have the on and off showers/t-storms too Zoia with the added smoke from the wildfires for Wed maybe Thursday. Yesterday our area was slightly elevated but still good. Burlington and the norther towns had thick smoke, almost as bad as NYC was. Temps today were 65 & 81.
I was mentioning to DH last night I hadn't seen signs of any deer around yet. When he got home this afternoon he said he saw a doe at the bottom of the driveway as he was heading out to work this morning! A late run to the hardware store to fix a drippy connector and the motion water sprayers are ready for any bambi's that venture into the yard. Big Grin Thumbs up

It was only 111 here today. I say only because on this date in 1990 it was 117. I was here and it was hot. Hilarious!
