It combines the best bits from the parents. An Ahoya-type bloom on a dark-scape! Big Grin

near impossible to match colors I see w/the camera. this is close. The original May scape did not produce the teeth...temperature related?

Thanks for the acorn, Dave.
I tip my hat to you.

Nan, I am unsure. This table seems to indicate that, though:
https://garden.org/thread/view...
Partial image attached with yellow (in my case Darker Than Sin is yellow) as pollen-parent.

However, if that table is to be trusted the final yellow blooms I get when crossed with purple (e.g. Money Maker) are also not common. So confusing.

Especially happy because that seedling I showed above is the only one I decided to grow of that cross, just really testing the seed batch for germination at that time.

Wow! Lovely, everyone! So much diversity! Hurray! I'm a bit behind this summer, but here are some new ones here. Please excuse any unsightly things such as binder clips & netting- it is the only way the deer leave my daylilies alone. I've tried everything else ( except electric fence) & my bamboo/netting barrier has been my best choice so far.

One of my new striped daylilies, GSXPFG221, sometimes shows odd bright mint-green spots or stripes on the sepals. I am not sure what the heck it is. Confused

Only on the sepals, though. A mystery Shrug!
Maybe due to all the rain?

Anyhow, a new non-striped 3rd sibling from last year crossing 2 striped daylilies.
At least this one has a big and intense bloom. But otherwise, all 3 are not what I wanted. Excuse the white lines I got impatient and manually tried to recurve them early this morning Whistling .

Edited: Nice job, K. Perhaps you will know. How many EITPF crosses did you need to do to see that broken-colored seedling?

Hilarious! Orion, how many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie roll pop? Rolling on the floor laughing

Not sure you meant to direct that question regarding EITPF to me. This is all new to me and I have no clue what I'm doing. Hilarious!

I think that was meant to be directed to Crazyplantlady611 Joyce, that is probably the prettiest striped bloom I have ever seen.

Larry, I agree with you. The striped seedling posted by Joyce is gorgeous. And, I'm sure Orion meant to direct the question to Joyce. I was just having some fun with it at Orion's expense. Whistling

Thank you, everyone! Sorry it takes me a bit to answer- yes, that broken color is very cool & it sure has caught my eye! Orion, the sad truth is that my very own EITPF was chomped this year & last! I was able to cross last year, but they have not bloomed just yet & I would have liked to have used it more this year. I plan to put deer netting in that area as well now because it's helped me so much. So, This baby was an auction win from Dave Mussar a few years ago! It has a few more blooms to go this year & so far, it's consistent! My other fav broken color is Augie's Unique Beauty & I've crossed that successfully. Looking forward to seeing what the future holds, but I've run out of space! 🤣

Orion, maybe your plant could toss out some more mint-green spots! It's nice, bright color! Next year is a new year.
