That's very sad indeed. I met him many years ago and went shopping with him at Annie's Annuals and some of our local Sonoma County nurseries. He had a great sense of humor and an amazing level of appreciation for every plant he saw.
I can post now...apparently someone decided that I am still a member...I did not know if Dee, his wife, would post a general open post or not, regarding his passing.

We actually drove through his town, I think it was Scotia, 3 weeks ago and I thought of him. (or was he also in Crescent City?) Loved his photos and he seemed like such a nice man.

So sad to hear this, and my heartfelt condolences go out to you, @Bobbysgardens. Dick was always such a nice man, always willing to share and help. Had a lot of gardening knowledge and information. He will be missed.
