I changed my mind. I am going to bring golden fried rice. Going to use my new Chinese Rose Wine--finally found it--a cooking wine, I did not make it up, including in the recipe----How many cups shall I make???? More substantial than those rempeyek.

Francine, I'd figure 1/2 cup per person, but I'm infamous for making too much food, so maybe 1/3 cup. That's 5 cups for the 14 people we have coming, which still seems like a lot.

The golden fried rice has carrots, peas and cabbage too, so probably 2 cups of the uncooked rice will be enough. (1 cup uncooked rice makes 3 cups cooked rice > so 2 uncooked rice will make 6 cups cooked rice + the veggies and eggs)----

Right! I was talking about total volume, didn't know what else was in it. In my experience, though, 1 cup of uncooked rice plus 2 cups water makes 2 cups of cooked rice, but maybe you're using a different type of rice. Whatever you make will be fine! I'm looking forward to it.

Thank you - I thought that might be it so I added a a couple of things then tried again and still got the error. Maybe wait 24hrs?

@critterologist Jill, since I have to cook the rice the day before I will be able how much the cooked rice will be if I cook 2 cups of rice. If I do not get 6 cups I can easily cook more---- would be awful if I do not bring enough for everyone. I had cooked this before, but just for lunch at work, and also without the vegetables and without the Rose wine (rose scented cooking wine), not Rose [with an accent]

I've used rose water before but have not even seen rose wine.

There's never been any problem with people going hungry at our gatherings! No worries!

This is Fair week, so I'm not sure how much digging and dividing I'll manage to do. Might just bring the mints I mentioned. If I have 11th hour additions, I'll post here so people know to call quick dibs!

Bruschetta looks like a "go," picked a few more tomatoes today. I think I'll bring punch cups, because I have a bunch of them and they should be big enough to dip a baguette slice into.. I'll put a box under the table, under the bruschetta bowl, so when you're done with your serving, just put the dirty cup into the box. I'll haul them home and run them through the dishwasher! Easy peasy.
