Hi Allison

Mine is coming along ok this year. I've had it for a few years now.

It gets morning sun, is in a flowerbed that has good drainage, the soil is loamy somewhat, sometimes it gets mulched with wood and happens to be planted next (approx. 6 inches or less away) to our concert steps.

I accidentally pulled one of the the stems while weeding this Spring and I was horrified when I realized what I did. Blinking

It's still ok though.

The flowerbed it's in, slopes downward;

I have an Echinacea plant next to it that is wilting and withering away, maybe there's something in the soil.

Wish I could help more. Let me know how it does. I got mine at HCG a few years ago and can't find any more elsewhere, as I wanted to have several in case this one died.

I have to remember to make sure it's well mulched, esp. in the Fall before Winter starts.

You could add some compost, add some gypsum (for drainage), add some all-purpose sand and add some of the water crystals to and around the soil of the plant.

Group hug Smiling

I am going to go back to the nursery I bought it at last year to see if they have them again.. after the monsoon passes Thumbs down it was looking good until all this crazy rain started.. it's on my retaining wall edge.. would think the drainage would be good there.. maybe just too many hot / cold swings and downpours

We get "too many hot / cold swings and downpours" here also.

Lucky you that you can find it locally! nodding Hurray! Thumbs up

If I did, I'd be buying two or three for sure to make sure I had at least one or more blooming here!

Good luck! I hope you can get it! Group hug Thumbs up
