lovesblooms said: Hi, all! I'm here again, and thanks so much for hosting again, @Dogsndaylilies.

I'm adding seeds at the moment and I wonder if we might be able to get the process a bit more streamlined if we could select the green check to have it appear in the appropriate swap while adding/editing each entry.

I find I forget to scroll back through the list to find the entry I just added and select the green check to add it to the swap before moving on to a new one painfully often. It just occurred to me that something like that might help.

I completely understand. I also wanted it to automatically enter it into the swap the first few swaps I did. Unfortunately, it is not under my control (you would have to summon the wise Dave for this one), but it is actually like that for a good reason. A number of people belong to more than one swap and so when you add seeds, you are essentially adding them to your pool of seeds and then the secondary step of check-marking them green tells the system how to divvy them up amongst the different swaps you participate in. I agree, it can be a bit confusing or tedious, but the secondary step of checking seeds for a particular swap does have a good rationale behind it.

I imagine that in future years there may be an easier way to add all of our seeds and have them automatically go into the swap you are currently prepping for, but @dave is a busy guy and it takes a lot of time to program something like that. I've been laying low a bit the last few years with requests because he has done so much for the seed swaps in the past, but...maybe this is a good year to send a request for him to look into a possible update. Big Grin

One suggestion is to have a scrolling page that is unending or that allows you to add info on at least 10 or 20 packets of seeds and submit them to the swap in a single batch? (Maybe a radio button at the top that says 'submit these seeds to ________ swap and make them ready'?)

Totally understandable, DnD, and we definitely don't want to make any unreasonable requests.

I understand the list and the swap are separate. Perhaps adding a "next step" page after we finish editing that offers the green buttons and asks if we want to add it to swaps we're part of before returning to the list? Any simpler suggestions?

Your batch suggestion is great. If there's anything else I'd love it would be radio buttons to select for deleting more than one item at once.

A thousand times, yes! Hilarious! (...although I suspect you meant to say checkboxes.) A mass delete option has been my most fervently-requested change.

Yes - that would be great as you have to scroll through the entire list to find it and mark- I often forget how it is listed. Even if it took you back to that place in the list- it would be amazing. I do love these lists and appreciate all of Dave's work for us on them:)

Last year he had 17 hives... I only have 5... I had a net haul of 23 gallons while he had closer to 100 gallons... so he has a HUGE supply.

Wow! Around here I have to buy from places 40+ miles away, because the 2 local bee folks run out early on both the spring and late summer harvests.

I think Dave added a mass delete option a while back. I've not used it recently, so perhaps one of you could check it out.

Yes, I also noticed the mass delete button at the bottom of our seed swap list but haven't tried it out myself... may check it out today. Thumbs up

Although, I was just thinking about doing a mass delete and remembered that last years some people did that and it shows up on our "recent events for this swap", so I decided not to do that at this time. I didn't care for all the pages of deletions interrupting what is currently valid for the swap.

Holy moly, I am sliding into home base with my backside on fire.

Just gotta add these suckers into the system and then I'm READY.

Unfortunately, the African ginger seeds didn't finish maturing in time. I'll store them as carefully as I store the rest of my seeds and hopefully they'll be fine for next year.

I finally have my seeds put in envelopes and hopefully on Monday (will be gone for the weekend), will put into baggies for the swap. Hope I'm not too late!

I seem to recall that being in there in the past, too. I haven't checked it out yet this year, but will verify for everyone soon. Smiling

No, Monday won't be too late, don't worry! Smiling

I usually recommend that everyone wait to comb through the lists until just a few days before the swap starts. Otherwise, there tend to be so many new additions that you miss you on a lot. If people follow that advice, you'll be well enough in advance that many will see your listings in their initial deep-perusing. Thumbs up

Thank you Dnd! I did go through and at least add in the ones I had left over from before! But on Monday I'll really get to work!

Unfortunately, with my surgery earlier this year, most of my swap items will be traded items rather than home-saved seeds... garden just went to hell for a lot of things and others didn't grow true to seed, so I don't feel comfortable offering my own seeds as a whole this year. There will be some of mine I can share, but not that many

Are your dibbing fingers ready? Ten minutes until round 2 of tickets!.....

My dibbing fingers are ready but I have so much FOMO from all the seeds I still haven't been able to look through, lol! I already searched for most all the obvious stuff I wanted (big on root veggies and greens this year), but I love finding stuff I didn't even know I needed. If my eyes could just start behaving themselves and let me do it! 😂

Well with a bit of restraint in not listing everything I possibly could, and getting seeds packed as soon as the dibbing commenced, I am NOT the last one to get seeds in the mail this year. And at only 1 pound 12 oz, it is not a bouncing baby basketball like my outgoing #3 bubble mailer was last time!

@DogsNDaylilies I put my fee funds in with your dibs pack so it's not rolling around in the pile for you to play Where's Waldo. For once, I remembered to put the money in before sealing the package up and having to roll and stuff it in through a tiny corner gap in the tape. Rolling my eyes.
