Got some rain and drizzle today

The east coast rain is supposed to arrive here mid-day tomorrow. A couple inches of rain expected. Will this help take us out of our moderate drought conditions? The ground is damp here but the creeks are running low.

I spotted new growth on the hellebores keeping my nurturing of growing things kindled.

This rose refuses to bow to winter (but with temps in the 50s it doesn't feel wintery. The lows have dipped into the mid 20s though)




The squirrels romping around look really chunky (full of all the walnuts from my tree no doubt) so they are prepared for tough conditions.

51/48, cloudy. By 6 pm it will pour until Tuesday. Clearly we are getting all the rain around here.

The roofers came this morning. They should be coming back any minute for an emergency roof repair. They will also repair the ceiling inside the kitchen. Another $3000 on the homeowner's loan…sigh. Well, that is the reality of being a homeowner, there is always something else that needs fixing.

I have to leave in 40 minutes to go play Christmas Carol, they will just have to do all this without me.

2.5 inches so far, and more is coming.

Zoia it is shocking how expensive roofers are. I hope they do a good job, in time.

'They' are saying now we may have 1-2 inches of heavy rain Friday thru Saturday. The way this year has gone for me it will probably collapse on Christmas Eve.

The images of flooding down south on the news looked terrible. Hope you're ok Nan and Donna.

After a really nice sunny, warm mid 40's, day yesterday today was back to heavy clouds. Light showers started this afternoon and it's now raining pretty good. We're in a 2 - 3" rain range through Tuesday morning Flood watches as well due to snow melt on the mountains adding to the water filling already full creeks and rivers. I don't think the wind will be as bad here as over on the coast and the west side of the Greens that could get strong downside winds to 60mph. Ours should be closer to 20 - 40, high enough to cause tree problems. Todays temps were 26 & 41, 41 s now with the temp going up. Could be near 60 tomorrow. Crazy weather!!

Linda, 1 - 2" of rain sounds like an awful lot for you to get in 2 days.

It started raining around 6 pm but when I got home, the roof appeared done! It's certainly not leaking now, which it would have been, had I done nothing. They will come back tomorrow to repair the kitchen ceiling and collect the rest of their payment. I'm so glad, because it looks like a hard rain all the way through Tuesday.

It is more then usual, Char, but it is one of those cut off lows that does this.
