Stupid question warning... is Blue Silk a "type", or a cultivar? Sorry I don't know the correct terms. I've seen a few that have different colors, so I'm not sure.

'Hatsushimo', a large flower blue speckled Japanese morning glory. I need to plant this one earlier in the year, I did not get a single seed from this elegant plant.

What a crazy coincidence. I just bought my Japanese Morning Glory seeds from Emma (as I do every year) and I never knew that she was here on All Things Plants. I love the red shredded Hige morning glories. I think the ones that I bought were more of a very dark pink.

I agree, it's as if you can see brush strokes on the blue edges of the flower, which are the gentle pleating of the flower tissue.
