Maybe so. Thought it was for thumb notifications, but I now see it's no doubt for all message systems. Never trust an old lady who never wears her glasses.

It's the int'l symbol for information. I'm up for changing it but what kind of image conveys "System Message"? So far I think this is the best option.

Doesn't bother me a bit just as it is. I just didn't look closely enough.

If it's int'l then best to leave it so it will be recognizable by all.

I like the "i' better than the "!" -- less "in your face," to me. A thumb would be way cool, but thumbs aren't the only reason we get system messages.
