Newyorkrita said: Maybe the rain will wash away all the snow that you all have.

I would love that, but the high of 43 may not be high enough to melt all the snow. Every little bit will help. Just worried about pooling and flooding on certain areas of the property which the snow tends to exacerbate. Will keep you posted.

Raining here since about 11 this morning. Just getting more dismal and socked in as the day wears on.

We got up to 42 today. Sun all day but through a thin haze of clouds. Hey, I'll take it at the point. It was 75 in the greenhouse where I did some work. So nice.... Smiling

Some real cold days and nights (down to 11 degrees) next week. I am thinking through strategies to keep the greenhouse above 32. If I can't, I may have to run a line for a larger heater.

I know it drives the electricity bill up, but it is so nice to be able to grow and have a warm place to relax outside in the middle of January, or for that fact, all winter. I think it is more therapeutic than a trip to a warm area for a week or 10 days, and less expensive once the greenhouse pays for itself. And even if it doesn't, I don't mind. Thumbs up

Very foggy this morning, but it's lifted now & I see blue sky! Don't like the forecast for Tues.-Thurs. but hopefully it won't be too bad...My oldest grandie is supposed to fly to Austin, Texas to row next week....I looked at the forecast & temps will be in the 30s! I hope she doesn't go....

A lot of rain again last night. Good news: almost all the snow is gone from last week. Bad news: The ground is super saturated. Puddles and a couple of small pop-up ponds on the property. Mild today at 40 with clouds. Not supposed to go above freezing all week, and some nights in the low 2-digit numbers, like 11-14. I don't see any snow in the 10-day forecast, but I know that can change. January is 2/5ths over!
