Are we going to post pics for this year here, or do we start another thread?

Still waiting for hostas to show up!

Okey Dokey! Here's three that are starting to unfurl. Many more are showing up daily. I love this time of year!

Streaked seedling that I purchased from Micheal Giese last year.

Nice start, Rose. Hostas are just poking up here. One got nibbled on already in a spot that was never a problem. Figures.

Speaking of Emperor's New Clothes, I am looking for a couple of large and oversized hostas this year for a relative. What are your favorites and how fast would a plug size for an oversized hostas grow?

I've read that large hostas can take up to 7 years to reach mature size. If you're buying plugs, I'd suggest buying 3 and pot them all together for a couple of years. I always pot my liners until they get some decent roots.

Anyone on Facebook? There's a group called Mike Giese's Hosta Stop seedling for sale
I bought 2 from him last year. Here's what I'm getting from him this year

Think he had some hostas at the Midwest Hosta show last year, lots of streakers.

Here's one of the streakers I got from him last year. The other one is up but hasn't opened yet.

I hope for forgiveness, I must confess that I have not payed much attention to my two Hosta. Sad

But, I did clear out some shady space and am getting more Hurray!
I've fenced it in with wiring because I decided to grow some strawberries and other veggies in a raised bed (i.e. Artemisia annua), and that will also stop the deer from attacking my Hosta.

All it does is rain here already almost 9 inches over normal for the year so far. Hopefully there will be a day I have off without rain so I can take a couple of pics.

We're supposed to get storms tomorrow. We need the rain but not hail and high winds.
