I agree that is sooo pretty Lovey dubby @chhari55 I wish I can find that color here! Whistling I also like your big tall ones Lovey dubby I have a lot of "short ones already" now my plan is to have tall ones for my front yard display. I have a few promising ones that are single stems - 2 feet tall. The leaves look different so I know they are not obesum. My plan is to make them look like those photos of tall adeniums with bunches of blooms at the tip! Like the ones in the wild!

Why are you tying the branches with plastic wrap.

Not really tying, just cover the wounds with grafting tape, to prevent the wounds exposed to rain, we are in raining season now, they can easily rot if the wounds get wet.

I see, can't do it here. The plastic would create moisture that will rot the branch.

@chhari55 that is a good one. This one too!

I was at Lowe's today and noticed that they have huge arabicum-crispum hybrid for a really great price and a few grafted but there were no open blooms. Anyway, I noticed that the pots were really wet, so I talked to the Store Manager and asked about why they are wet.

He said when it gets cold the plants do better if the roots are wet and prevent the roots from drying. I have always thought you shouldn't water desert roses when the temps are cold. So far, most of my desert roses have not lost their leaves. The back porch keeps them dry and they get direct morning sun. It would be interesting to see how many will not make it though more from stem rot.

That crispum hybrid sounds tempting.
Although watering before a freeze works for many cold tolerant plants, adeniums are more susceptible to rot if kept wet and cold (generally below 50). It will be interesting to see how the plants do. I hope that they aren't dormant for some reason.
