Beautiful colors and textures for the banner, Clint!

Heucheras are so pretty and the flowers seem to last a long time. But then I read they only live 3-5 years? So I pretty much stopped trying to grow them as perennials here and instead now use a few here in my annual planters. I don't mind repotting those yearly, so I still get to enjoy their variety.

That's good to know about the short life span…rabbits chew them to bits here anyway, so even shorter!

Hmm, I have several going on 10 years so maybe the newer varieties are shorter lived?

Do you divide them at all every few years? I like things you leave in the ground and they just get bigger and bigger each year. Maybe it is newer varieties, or that I'm just too lazy to keep digging them up every few years.

Sometimes they get long and leggy and I split it off and replant it.

Thanks, Sue. Maybe I'll give them another chance.
