I have to post and share my excitement. Smiling

What a shock! I went out to the garden and there was a positively massive fruit on one of my Kellogg's Breakfast plants. It wasn't beautiful but it's a gigantic.

Actually, there were two of them. One was right at 2lb 4oz and the other was 2lb 2oz. My camera battery is dead (it's charging now) but I'll get a photo of it this afternoon and will post it.

Way to go! Dave!
My late DH used to like to grow large tomatoes.

Can you make sandwhiches for all of your children from that one tomato?

Ok, as promised, I've uploaded the photos! What a beauty!

Kellogg's Breakfast is truly a champion among tomatoes, almost without peer.

I assure you that it did. Smiling It's among the best tasting tomatoes we've ever grown. This variety is a staple for us.

I can't recommend it highly enough.

I'll have plenty of seeds to share. I'm selecting from the best fruits and saving seed from them. They are carefully distanced to ensure seed purity.

They sell plants at my local nursery. Lots of heirlooms. I just never buy them.

Dave, did you save seeds from that 2 1/4 pounder? I would love a few seeds of it if you did.

I did indeed save seeds from that one but I mixed it in with all my other good Kellogg's Breakfasts.

I'm sure to get some more massive ones through the season. Would you like me to save some exclusively from the mammoths? I'd be glad to do so.

Yes please, if you don't mind nodding I would only need a few seeds. If you let me know when they are ready I will send you a SASE.

I'll keep my eyes out for more giants. So far the rest out there are normal sized. So it'll be a while but I won't forget. Thumbs up

Ok, thanks Dave. I would be perfectly happy with a few seeds from your general pool of Kellogg's Breakfast if you don't get any more monsters Smiling

How exciting!

We love this variety but we have been experimenting with different ones so we didn't grow it this year. I hope I still have some seeds. We never got any that gigantic though!

Last year we grew Tree's Bottom Yellow. Not huge fruit but very tasty. This year we only have a dwarf yellow. Wait, we did also grow Brandywine Yellow. No ripe fruit yet.
