i'll take the peachy color over the dreadfully saturated pink. Love pink but I've grown tired of it already. Sorry, Barbie!

Just a question, Bea, how costly are the tickets for the flower show? Every year the Philadelphia Horticultural Society puts on their flower show and it's gotten outrageously expensive for tickets. They also DO NOT give seniors discounts on tickets nor discounts for Veterans which is the main reason I do not attend. Once you're inside the Convention Center you're kind of trapped until you leave. Any beverages or food is expensive. PHS has been harshly criticized because of poor traffic flow, lack of seating[especially for seniors] poor crowd control, etc. It used to be a great afternoon and so invigorating just to get that scent of spring-but it's gotten too big for it's britches and is no longer a fun affair. Just be prepared to use your plastic or cash allot! I can only imagine the money the vendors rake in.

The tickets are online, adults $15 and children under 12 free. At the entry where the ticket office is located if you have proof you're a veteran they will discount the price.
Food available at a couple food stands not that great and every year a few benches and tables near the food areas. There is never enough seating for show all the attendees, no auditorium in the buildings.
Rental spaces for venders is standard sizes for fire/safety codes, also require no seating in areas due to exit /entry regulations . Only seating is located where conferences and stages are set up for guest speakers.
I pull my truck in the building to unload everything then park outside a very long walk. Even when staging entries I bring my own folding chair . Everything has to be regulated according to size for entry divisions, isles, open spaces, entrances, exits, and facilities .
I generally take a few days to peek thru different landscapers setting up their sites. Everyone is in competition for the entries in their divisions.

tickets are in the $45 range. At least. Used to be at the old convention center in center city Philadelphia. The displays were down the escalator and the view from above was wonderful. And the scent of spring! All the commercial nurseries set their theme gardens around the interior of the space. One stays in mind-a spring thaw with live white bark birch trees and a running brook with large stones for the water to spill over. Information was easily available and the owners of said nursery were there to answer questions. Now it's who can do one better and it's loud and not peaceful. The acoustics are dreadful and the lighting is bad. I haven't been in years. My way of protesting the no discount for Vets and seniors.
