Anyone know what this is, please? It's currently growing in Florida. The only photo I have.

A lovely shrub, comes in several colours white, pink, red, lilac.
Needs a warmer climate than we can give it here.

I can only plant Pentas in my cottage garden because its fenced in. Even then, if the deer want to jump that fence, its well within their means to do it LOL. Deer LOVE Pentas. They also love Agapanthus, and any food crop. I have purposefully avoided planting these in my cottage garden because I don't want to encourage them to jump the fence

Thea, happy to reply. Pentas is sold "as an annual" here. IDK how far north they send this plant. It's a very long bloomer, stopping only when frost gets it. Worthwhile to bring home if you're buying "annuals."

Cal, I've seen that as a nickname too, but at 6 syllables, it seems like a huge mouthful vs. the 2 syllables of the actual name.

Gina, part of me wishes I lived out of town where deer would be a problem but the other part of me is glad to live in town where there are no deer. There are definitely deer in the general area, but I haven't seen any or heard any reports of them here in town.

Ooooh, what a beautiful family! I'd be a terrible influence, wanting to feed them and love on them.

We have to stop ourselves from doing that. It's tempting but I'm pretty sure it's illegal here. They are so cute though. We only have 4 families on our road. The people in the very front by the main road have the largest acreage, 15. It's almost all cleared. In the very front is a fenced segment where mama deer have fawns every year. We have a set of twins in there now. They are about big enough to jump the fence and leave. But we get to see them almost every day

I have a neighbor with a corn feeder in his yard...

Me? A big fence...

This is about as good a pic as I'm likely to get...

I stopped taking deer pics LOL the one I posted is the nicest one I ever got, it came from our game camera. I did get this one 2 years ago of a little fawn that was born on our road in the nursery meadow. He grew up and moved on with his herd.
