Thanks, that would be fantastic!

How awesome about the violin sounding the same. I bet it is like getting an old friend back that you thought you would never see again.

Hurray! Zoia! I'm glad you were in a position to be able to get your violin repaired, both financially and in terms of the type of damage it sustained. I hope it it better than ever now!

A wonderful rejection;

Writer and translator Estelle Gilson shares this translation of a rejection slip issued by a Chinese economic journal and, in the process, reveals the most incredible way to say no:

"We have read your manuscript with boundless delight. If we were to publish your paper, it would be impossible for us to publish any work of lower standard. And as it is unthinkable that in the next thousand years we shall see its equal, we are, to our regret, compelled to return your divine composition and to beg you a thousand times to overlook our short sight and timidity."

Yes, I'm pretty relieved that I got my old friend back…this violin has been through the wringer with me! The kicker was getting caught in the North Shore Music Theater fire of 2005. I almost lost it then but it was rebuilt by its maker, Ray Melanson. Unfortunately, it was one of the last repairs he ever did. He only makes new instruments now.

Anyway, I ended up practicing instead of gardening. I have a student soon and a wedding tomorrow night. The violin has all new strings that need to be played on to stretch out. Gardening will just have to wait…besides there's nothing to do out there except a little light weeding and we all know that's never over!

Ok, so, I found another hole in one of my daylily pots. A large pot ( actually one of those rope tubs) larger hole. I went to move a few leaves because I was going to fill it with soil but stopped, didn't have my gloves on. (Grabbed one too many bare handed handfuls of leaves with a slug in it, so gross) so I grabbed a stick. I carefully brushed a couple of leaves aside and something moved. Yikes! I then realized it's some sort of nest. This is in the very back of the yard. Figured I should leave it alone so went down to the patio.

But curiousity was killing me. I was thinking bunny? Bird? I grabbed my phone ( and gloves) and heading back up to the back yard. Moved a leaf and just took a bunch of pics. Definately seems like something with babies but I still don't know what and I really didn't want to disturb it anymore than I had. Something moved back when I moved the leaf. Wish I had some great pics, but I dont. I'll share anyway.

I know the pics are bad but any guesses? Please don't say its something creepy. I thought maybe a wren? But then I thought bunny. We have a lot of birds around here often nesting in the evergreens. First time ever finding any kind of nest in a pot. Blinking And it's a dayliliy I like too. Patagonian Sunset.

I'm thinking Wren; they love nesting in pots! Surprised I don't have one in a hanging basket yet!

Diana, good tip. I'll try with a flash tommorrow.

Crossing Fingers! it's a bunny or bird and not some big mama rabied rodent that's going to jump out and get me. I was really hoping no one said that and now there I go and do it.

I did see a humming bird today and I've also been seeing a bunch of butterflies. Trying to think good thoughts and erase the image I just put in my head. Blinking

Rest easy. When I look closer I can see something that looks furry so probably bunnies. Found this on-line:
"Small rodents (like squirrels, hamsters, guinea pigs, gerbils, chipmunks, rats, and mice) and lagomorphs (including rabbits and hares) are almost never found to be infected with rabies and have not been known to transmit rabies to humans."
