Great list Diana....I'd like any one of them...or all Whistling
Lovely Hydrangea...wish I had some. We had some at the house where I grew up in Pennsylvania, always loved them.
Nice hummer shot summerbee. Also, I'll try your advice about putting some banana out for the butterflies.
New Moon today so I was out feeding plants this morning with Miracle Grow. I know some of you don't like that product. I'm almost out so need to buy new but I was wondering what you guys use to feed your plants? I've heard good things about Tone fertilizer (HollyTone, etc.) I want something easy to apply, don't want to have to get down & work it in. We do amend the soil in the beds with compost, bagged steer manure, etc. Some things I hardly ever feed, but roses & lavender & others need occasional feeding. I also have 1 only tomato plant, an Early Girl (has 2 blossoms on it!) That got a shot of MG this morning too.

For daylilies, fertilizer should have high nitrogen, low middle #. Miracle Gro has multiple varieties, some with a high middle number so you have to be careful. Like corn, DL's love nitrogen. You can even use straight nitrogen lawn fertilizer that doesn't have "weed" killer in it as long as you don't overdo it since lawn products are typically higher N than "garden" fertilizer.

Nope, can't do it either.

Love everyone else's top ten. Have to think on this!

Dianne, thanks for the acorn!

I can guess what your problem is, Nan. My top ten are over 10% of my whole collection. Your equivalent would be your top 30 daylilies, since you appear to have over 3 times as many varieties as I do. Sticking tongue out Hilarious!

Lizzie, I use compost spring and fall to feed the daylilies. I use Milorganite occasionally--not every year.

I just picked up Spooky from the snip clinic. He is ear-tipped, neutered, microchipped, tatooed, and flea-treated. He has to stay in the trap for 24 hours, and then we can release him. I gave him some food through the bars of the trap and hung a water bottle on it. Hope he figures out how to use it. I am not opening the trap for any money. They put a moisture pad in there so he can pee. He looks resigned.

Yeah, no way. I'm approaching 1,000 Daylilies, I love something about almost all of them. Of course I like some more than others but there is no way to narrow it down to 10.

In other news, I just dug Daylilies for the NEDS plant sale on Saturday.
Here is what I'm bringing!

Mike several of us have sent cards to Will. There have been no replies from him nor have the cards been returned to us as undeliverable. Sighing!

I use a combo of Milorganite, alfalfa pellets and lobster compost. Every Spring, I don't really hit them again during the season.

I've been thinking of Valerie also and hoping for updates on her beautiful mini seedlings.

As for Will, he was having some really tough life problems. I'd love it if he came back, but he may not feel up to it.

That makes me feel better. But what about Dianne? She has more than I do, and she was the first one to come up with a top ten list!! Hilarious!

If I really want to cut it down, I need to make strict criteria. For example, looking over my list, I realize that some of the plants are rather new, so I should probably drop those from the list. On the other hand, I could just make a top fifteen...

Zoia,
Not sure how the sales work. But you can paste the URL of the daylily database stats page of each of your daylilies for sale (or the NGA page) into a QR code generator like this one:
https://www.the-qrcode-generat...

Then you can print out QR codes for your daylily pots for sale and people can scan those to directly get the info of what you are selling, on their phones, prior to deciding to buy or not. Shrug!

Always helpful to have photos and stats before deciding to buy something. Thumbs up

It's a "Go to the sale and buy stuff" kind of sale. I'm not selling anything, I'm donating the plants to the club as are lots of other people. Then there are the people who have professional businesses like Harmon Hill who bring a bunch of plants down. Honestly, it's a great deal, and if you live nearby, a way to skip shipping costs while still having a pretty huge selection. I found some really neat plants there ( as well as having the Harmons bring down my order to skip shipping).
