Even though there are no flowers to see yet, our S, melissodora is coming along just fine--in fact, it is the best grower of the four that we planted in April.

The flowers of this one are VERY aromatic. I love to suggest to someone who has not experienced a grape smell in a flower to sniff. It makes everyone happy!

The history of this plant is very interesting. Here is a link to our post about it: http://www.fbts.com/everything...

I planted two of them into a container with Salvia 'Royal'.

The look great!

Thank you, Kermit, for letting me know about the article on uses for S. melissodora. I have posted a comment. I enjoyed reading the article very much, lots of good information. Marilyn, reading the article let me know that this one will probably be blooming in the fall, so I won't be expecting flowers for some time, but that's okay, I am really happy to have a fall blooming plant.

I've had a few flowers of melissodora, so far. One flower so far of the 'Royal'.

Our S. melissodora flowers some 9 months of the year, as do others in milder climes.

When I ordered melissodora, I thought it was going to flower from Summer into Fall, as it stated in the description. http://www.fbts.com/salvia-mel...

Hoping for more flowers now.
