Any suggestions on what varieties of sweet corn might perform well grown in grow bags?

Do you want long, medium or short term corn?
How big of a grow bag?
What type of soil?
Tranplanting growing corn stalks does not work as well as simple seeding in the ground.

There may be others, but this "On Deck" variety of sweet corn is the only one I've seen that is recommended for container growing.

I checked that site and the write up said: 18 seed per 24 inch container, while the picture shows what looks 4 stalks in one-half of a whisky barrel.
Whiskey barrels are bigger than 24 inches.
You could spacing 3 inches apart, including from the edge do that but crowding that heavily reduces yield and would need very heavy fertilizing. Shrug!

In the How to Sow and Plant they also have
The exception to this rule is 'On Deck' corn, which has been bred to grow in containers. If you are growing 'On Deck', choose a container that is at least 24 inches wide and deep and plant nine seeds evenly spaced.

With the other directions it almost looks like they made someone who isn't a gardener write the web page content. It's got what seems like generic corn info mixed with that variety's container bits squished together.

I admit I didn't previously read the "fine print" - I just remembered seeing that variety when I was looking for seeds to buy...

I'd say the germination rate must be spectacularly terrible if they want you to plant 18 seeds and end up with 4 or 5 plants Rolling my eyes. .
