Probably my favorite ginger genus - Globba. This one is White Dragon. It's mostly listed as Globba winitii but I've also seen it listed as Globba magnifica and Globba schumberkii - raise your hand if you know for absolute sure which species it is! I also have a yellow and purple, 'waiting in the wings'.

Oo, that's a real beauty, X! I'm going to have to look for it. I have at least six other different gingers, but I've never seen that one!

I got the White Dragon when I did a large trade with Zone 9 Tropicals years ago .. I essentially said "surprise me". That was in early Fall and I stuck it along with everything else in the greenhouse and it slowly faded away with me not even having a clue as to what it was except a 'ginger'. In Spring I pulled everything out of the greenhouse noticing that some green stuff was peeking through the soil of the 'ginger'. It put out some pretty leaves .. nothing really spectacular though, sorta curcumaey so it was essentially ignored until one day as I was walking past it, I caught something yellow and white in my peripheral vision - it took about a nano second to register that something was different - I stopped, turned around, parted the leaves and my jaw dropped to the ground! I had never seen anything like it before and I remember that moment in time as if it just happened a few minutes ago.

I hope mine comes back! Where are yours planted? Shade? Part-Shade?

I had trade for some yellow ones, too. Both of these are in pots. They are so unusual and gorgeous!

I keep mine in bright shade and they get about an hour of full sun in late afternoon. They are in containers and I feed them about every week.

I just use the Miracle Grow 1tbs per gallon stuff but now that I have my Hozon I might switch to a liquid. Have to research it first.

And here comes the 2nd act! The Yellow Dancing Ladies! I love those red hearts on the flowers. The yellow one also produces bulbils. The pot that this plant is in is full of germinating (?) bulbils.
