I got the White Dragon when I did a large trade with Zone 9 Tropicals years ago .. I essentially said "surprise me". That was in early Fall and I stuck it along with everything else in the greenhouse and it slowly faded away with me not even having a clue as to what it was except a 'ginger'. In Spring I pulled everything out of the greenhouse noticing that some green stuff was peeking through the soil of the 'ginger'. It put out some pretty leaves .. nothing really spectacular though, sorta curcumaey so it was essentially ignored until one day as I was walking past it, I caught something yellow and white in my peripheral vision - it took about a nano second to register that something was different - I stopped, turned around, parted the leaves and my jaw dropped to the ground! I had never seen anything like it before and I remember that moment in time as if it just happened a few minutes ago.
Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
