I never got my daffodil bulbs dug either and they have to be moved this year. I am not looking forward to that!

Oops...me, either. I think maybe I know where they are? Whistling

All I got sown today was kale, but at least that got done.

Had a huge seafood topped salad for dinner tonight, and the best tasting part of it was a lovely vine-ripened Black Krim tomato. Ahhh...the flavor! Hurray!

Chelle, mine are all in a 3 1/2' x 50' row but it's going to be sort of like digging up gladiolus, you always miss some! And there are some grape hyacinth in there as well. Yeah, I'll be able to find them! Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

Rolling on the floor laughing I would love to be caught up. How about not having to work in the garden and just enjoying it for a change?

Usually I have a mental list of garden chores to do each day. I count a day as very successful if I actually get that list all done!

But this is the time each summer when I look at my veggies and see what is working and what might not be. What I need more space for and how I can accomplish that.

Last summer I did this and made new tomato beds. Both by moving flowers to re- purpose the areas and by enlarging. This year I can't enlarge but I can move things like that unsuccessful iris bed so that next year I have an large area for cukes and a nice dedicated area for peppers. Really need that pepper area.

But I am set on the tomatoes as I think 60 plants is more than enough for a home gardener! Hilarious!

Doing it now this way by next spring I am really organized to put my veggie gardens in. And I like that.

We're finally getting a steady, drizzly rain here; everything looks so brilliantly green and pretty again. Big Grin I'm really enjoying this break from hose duty!

No veggie gardening today, but with the extra time saved I may be able to catch up on things elsewhere. Thumbs up

Oh Shoot. I just saw a DVB moth today and I wasn't able to catch and squish her. Before this I had not seen a moth in weeks. And I was thinking SVB season was over here. Aparently not so. Bummer.

I do that each day after working as long as I can. I sit and enjoy the plants, and daydream about my plans.

My list is more like a five-year plan. I try to whittle it down to what I might accomplish this year or this month.

Then each day I have a mental list of what most needs to be done right away.
Sometimes i get as many as 1/3 of those tasks done.

Thumbs down , Rita.

I think I saw one here the other day...drowned in the horse tank. My Astia squash is finished...don't know if it was from the SVB or if it just wore itself out, but I need to go ahead and pull it, I guess.

I do sit in the garden. But not for long as I am usually jumping up after remembering something I just had to do. But honestly, I really enjoy the garden, especially those veggies.

Yugg! Found a squash vine borer worm in a small zucchini today. Say on the stem of a leaf were there was frass and the zucchini fruit directly next to the stem had a hole in it. So for some reason it could not get into the leaf. I cut the fruit and cut it open. Found a tunnel drilled and then the borer which I squished. Obviously I threw away the zucchini.

chelle, for me, I just keep starting new squash plants. I am learning as I go but with the SVB problems I think the best way is too have young healthy plants coming along.

In fact I just put afew Cavilli seeds to start today after finding the fruit with the borer and seeing that moth today.

Ha, I traded with my neighbor the great cook. I gave her a nice eggplant, a nice zucchini, four golden egg summer squashes and about 2 quarts of Juliet grape tomatoes and she gave me a Tupperware tub filled with her delicious pasta with veggies dish that she makes. It is SOO GOOD! Yumm, yumm. I know what I will be having for dinner. Thumbs up

I'm doing the weeding today that always makes me cringe and sigh...can't ever keep the grasses out of the strawberries...ugh! Too painstaking and time-consuming...might just re-dig and reset those berry plants. Rolling my eyes.

Oh, I had forgotten to look to see if any cucumbers were ready so I did and picked two really nice ones and gave them to her also.

Weeding doesn't sound like any fun! At least it never is any fun here. Hilarious!

Chelle, my grass was so tall I couldn't even see a strawberry. They are almost finished. A THICK layer of grass clippings should help!

I planted Crimson Clover and Hairy Vetch again just now after pulling up the dead and dried out ones from my spring crop. Really I just grow these to attract and feed bees and mostly because I think they are so pretty. Love the flowers on both of them, especially the Crimson Clover.

But the fact that those plants were dead was no big deal. These are annuals and that is what they do. Grow quickly, flower and die off after flowering.

I did weed today, it wasn't too bad. Of course I still have more to do. But from working on my garden bed yesterday I had two trash bags both partly full and since tomorrow is trash day, I wanted to fill them up the rest of the way and get them out for the trash pickup. So I weeded. As soon as I got those bags filled I stopped weeding. Rolling on the floor laughing
