Lankon seems to multiply reasonably well; planted in November of 2011, my first year / bloom was 2012 and this year I had a 6 ft.blooming stem, 1 medium stem that should bloom next year and 1 small (8") stem. A-OK in my book. Smiling
Where are we going, and why am I in this hand-basket?

Somehow I lost mine. I assume it was our winter it didn't like...not sure but it has vanished. Crying

Celeste--Lankon should be perfectly hardy in your zone. Maybe you had a bad bulb--I'd try another. Maybe ask for replacement. hint, hint.

Moby--six feet is pretty tall. I assume you staked it for safety and wind protection, but, would you say this cultivar requires staking?

Anthony--if it multiplies like you say, then I'll bet it's an easy cloner too.

I'm curious about how early Lankon emerges in spring. Longiflorum and LOs emerge really early for me, too early, often January or February. They usually grow and bloom, but look cruddy from all the cold damage early on. That's my only hesitation in acquiring this Lily.

Moby, what has your experience been with this?

The weather this year and last were quite different from each other, but I can tell you that Lankon bloomed at the same time as most of my asiatics and early LA's. I didn't stake it until it was full of buds, but did so as a precaution because it was going to a show.

Two seasons here and 'Lankon' hasn't done well really. I bet I had a 2 1/2 foot stem with two buds. I may move it in the fall to see if it is placement. But it certainly isn't among my favorites as far as bloom or performance.
