My preference is to plant them in the ground. I do occasionally pot them and plant out in the fall when it is cooler and the roots have developed. I'm going out now to plant the Keppel iris in the ground and will put a milk basket over each to provide a little broken shade.

Mary Ann, If you don't, next year you'll say "Darn, I wish I had ordered that one, now I have to wait another year" And then maybe they won't have it. Angel (There is no devil icon, lol)

Paul, which one has the dark PBF?

OK. I placed a small order with Gilbert Wild Gardens -- totally due to Arlyn's pushy, shovy enablement. I couldn't help myself. Shrug!

So -- I'm going to get *Masai Warrior*, *Unchain My Heart*, *Lovely Senorita* and *Ostentatious*.

There goes my resolve..................

I don't know if you saw my 2013 orders post on cubits, but the iris I received from them came "potted" (planted in a pot, not drunk!). and ,while on the small side, had an exceptional root system. All the others I planted, while nice plants, have yet to break dormancy, and show any new growth. But this one is growing like the proverbial weed! I think you will be pleased with your iris Thumbs up ! Tom, resolve doesn't come in pill form! Not that any of us need any Whistling ! I had a teacher in High School tell me the only useful thing about me was that he was able to point me out as a "bad example", in order to "shape up' the rest of the class!...I THINK he was kidding!?.. Shrug! .anyway, I AM proud of my ability to lead others a stray, ,..I mean, Everybody's gotta' be good at SOMETHING, don't they ?...We DO need a devil icon Rolling on the floor laughing Arlyn

Omigosh Arlyn -- I had to go back and look at your post on Cubits about the potted Iris. Do you suppose that all of their Irises come that way?

Tom -- we don't got no steenking resolve pills. If we did, I wouldn't have succumbed to temptation, would I?????????????

I don't think I've heard of Sisters Irises -- who are they?

A while ago I was looking for a source for Midnight Passion, and Greg posted this link. I checked them out on the Watch Dog, and they got good reviews, so I ordered some. This link takes you to the Midnight Passion page, but they have lots of others too.

I think they are all in pots, MaryAnn, but, I'm not positive. You'll know in a few days! A couple years ago I read where Wilds had bought out a small, mom & pop type iris grower in order to increase their business. I've been trying to remember the name of the place they bought out, or even WHERE I read it, but...old man's memory strikes again ! I have bought from them many times over the years, but it was always daylilies, hostas, etc. I have always been pleased with the quality of the plants. This was my first iris purchase, but I'll buy again, assuming they have the cultivars I want. I am quite impressed with the potted iris' root system. This has been a year of "firsts" for me...first potted iris...first early spring shipment...first "new intro"...Oh! Where will it all end !? Rolling on the floor laughing Arlyn

Their Iris selection is quite limited. If they're all in pots, I can see why. Do their daylilies and hostas come in pots too?

Mums and Hostas were potted, but daylilies were bare-root. Very generously sized, also! We bought some peoneys there years ago, but I don't remember if they were bare, or potted...got interrupted her...power/internet went out!..Wind came up suddenly, got about 4 drops of rain...then...phttt1 all over!..anyway, they have hybridized many daylilies and peoneys.....Arlyn
