Sue........
This bear is not afraid of humans, dogs, gun shots or anything. She has the most incredible gardens on 4 acres and the dang bear is in heaven. He continues to wreck all of her hard work. Last night he got the bee hives and was going after the chickens. She shot over his head when he went for the chickens, and he just turned a looked at her and walked away ... to the fish pond. That makes this bear very dangerous.
She's ranting that she didn't spend all of her time planting vegetables, cleaning up her berry patches, etc for a dang bear. She does her best to avoid any close encounters, but he even comes up on her deck.
I don't have to worry about morning glories or bind weed. Most morning glories don't survive the winter up here and don't come back. Bind weed is around, but never seems to get a good foothold, so it's not much of a problem for me.
The thugs are some of the native grasses. I can't use the solarization method because they are coming up in areas where that won't work. If I can get most of them out, I'll be mulching like a crazy woman.
Smiles,
Lyn
