This little chick is 1 day old, and the only one to hatch ,(or maybe survive) out of many eggs. Hatched under the barn where we can't see.
Not the best picture as it's hard to get close.
To me, here in the MiddleEast(still really cold, snow, ice, ) that is worth acorns. If I can figure out how to send you some you will have some ASAP. Our chickens (neighbors but they live here in my barn) are range chickens and they are outside in all kinds of horrible weather. Only one rooster goes inside and he was hatched in the neighbor's house and is very tame as is one of the other hens, but she is in love with one of the other roosters so she perches in the big trees instead of going inside. We never know where the eggs are going to be and it is just a real surprise when 10 little chicks come running around. I pray they do not hatch in this weather. I am so happy you have one and hope you have many more. Here is a picture of them in the snow last week. They are all game hens and roosters and are tough as nails. They are a real pain at times, but I keep on feeding them since they are here most of the time.
I can not see animals not being fed and watered. The neighbor is a city person and he does not realize the importance of fresh water, etc.
