Well, I see it is back. And besides if people give you thumbs up for your contributions then they must feel you have been helpful. And nothing wrong with knowing how to grow roses. Unfortunately we all get weeds!

Oh, dear. I hate misrepresenting myself. I am not exaggerating. Not at all. I cannot even begin think of myself as a "Garden Sage". I have far too much to learn. Also, I haven't finished making my fair share of novice mistakes. I am workin' on that part.

I am happy with a thumb for any particular post, but the overall designation ... I am certain I could never live up to that title.

Embrace it and don't over analyze it I say! These badges are just for fun anyway.

If you are given a thumbs-up for something you posted in that forum it's because someone appreciated it. Don't diminish their appreciation of your advice given no matter how small or insignificant you think it is, it's still appreciated. You give advice from your experience and that always counts for something.

Great, I got a light bulb mostly for making smart-alec remarks in that case.

Yep, when you see the light bulb badge, you can click on a profile, scroll down and see the Gardening Ideas contributions made by that member. The more contributions, the different light bulb levels. It's nice because if you found an idea or tip of theirs especially helpful or useful, you may want to see what other ideas this member has contributed that you may have missed.
