Put the word out--hybridizers should update Bride's Halo. Some of Fred Kerr's plants might qualify. He works with rims,

About 2:15 this morning I heard the horn blowing on a car, got up to make sure it wasn't mine, Went out and saw a car with the emergency flashers going, so I walked up to it. Some drunk guy had lost control of his car and I'm not sure what he did, but his rear tire was off, and the car was smoking. He wasn't hurt, but was too drunk to know what was going on. I walked back and called the police. I of course couldn't go back to sleep, so I got up. Not a fun start to the day, but it seems cooler and less humid, so I should be able to finish cleaning out the bed I started yesterday.

You'll have to take a nap after dinner! That's pretty early in the A.M. to be starting the day!. The "air" feels much better here, too, thankfully. Haven't watched the weather yet, but I suppose I'll be watering again today.....Arlyn

Just came in from watering the new starts and the day lilies. I think a nap will sound good in a few hours. Everything I've planted so far has taken off. Much better then last year. I lost some last year due to that hot spell.

Paul, have you seen Kerr's Guilded Cloud? It's similar to Bride's Halo.

Have I got a deal for you, Tom ! This sounds like it's right up your alley! Check out the PSA on the Blue J site, it's near the top of the page. Stockton isn't too far from you, and it's close enough, I'll even help you dig!...Arlyn

Oh Arlyn, just 2500 plants??? Not enough to mess with. Sounds to me like you need to get yourself a back hoe for that new tractor and go get a bunch. I wonder if one of those old potato diggers would work to dig iris? Are there anymore vacant lots for you to buy????

You must have miss-read, Tom, as it's 3500, not 2500! Can you imagine ?! Their total bed space is almost 2900 sq. ft.. That's half again as much as I have, but still, they must really be "packed in there"! Maybe we can get MaryAnn to go get "em?! Whistling I wonder if this was just a "hobby garden", or some kind of business?....Arlyn

Well, once you get over 2000, what's a few more, Rolling on the floor laughing I know I don't want to get there, unless I win the lottery and can hire gardeners. But then I guess I'd have to start buying the tickets. They say your chances to win are increased "slightly" by buying a ticket! However, I do like digging in the dirt, and I'd have to hire someone to hold a sun umbrella and fan me while I work, and of course someone to wipe the sweat off my forehead, and keep the wine glass chilled and filled! Rolling my eyes.

iris addiction is great. when you get our age (late 70s & early 80s) you realize that you have to slow down.
