Dry here at the moment, but we have had a great deal of rain. You would not know it looking at the soil. Adding compost as I plant. Did 2 TBs, a BB & a SDB this morning. Came in to a cooler house afterwards. You can see that I am not a fast planter. Although one plant I wrestled with had a huge rhizome so really had to work with it. Didn't want to stay on the little ridge I was making for it.
I have trouble that way ,too, Lucy. That's why I like the ones with all the roots left intact, even the "old" dried ones. It makes anchoring the rhizome a lot easier for me...Arlyn
Kent, It sure is discouraging when you plan your crosses all winter, and then the flowers have a mind of their own. Oh well, you will get to try next year. I had a nice bloom on Privage Eye, but found it didn't have any pollen. I'm not sure if that's it's MO, or if it just wasn't in the mood this year. I couldn't get Reckless Abandon to work either way. Maybe you'll have better luck.
Politicians are like diapers, they need to be changed often, and for the same reason.
