I just took pictures of these semp's last week and this one didn't look like this.We haven't had any rain so i don't know what's caused it.

It is looking like rain today so should i cut the babies loose? Most are rooted already and i don't want the stems the babies are on to rot & kill babies as well.Should i cut off all soft leaves and leave only healthy ones if there are any?It felt pretty soft.
The bottom leaves on all the lavendar semps have a brown color to them but they have been like that almost all summer,i thought that all the rain and no sun may have been the cause but they aren't soft, they're all stiff leaves.

Jo, I would tug gently on the mother and see if she is still stable in the soil. She may just pull out easily if she is rotting. If mother is pulled out, you can still leave the babies as is, just tuck more of your rock under/around them. If mother is still stable, take the soft leaves off and tuck more grit underneath all. (Hope these aren't the beautiful purple ones that I have been admiring?)
Good luck!

I agree with both Mark and Bev. Could be any of the above suggestions.
It does look like stress from so many offsets causing a drain on the mother rosette, and maybe not enough water? Especially if you haven't had any rain for awhile?

I agree with Bev, the offsets look healthy.

Thanks yall, i haven't watered them because we had so much rain ,it's only been sunny for 4 days but no rain for a week. The temp's have been in the high 80's with nights into the mid 50's.It has been overcast for 2 days now.Maybe i need to water the bed.I just didn't think they looked like they had dried out enough to water yet.If it from not enough water wouldn't the leaves dry out instead of being soft?

@ Bev,don't worry it's only 1 of the small ones and yours looks great!! Lovey dubby

Some how i managed to get quit a few of these purple ones. Can't wait until the weather cools and the semp's get there color back.I miss the red, burgandy & purple from last winter!!The purple ones are so pretty during the winter but with all the rain we've had this summer their color is off. It's been a hard summer on all the drought tolerant plants around here.

If you have had a lot of rain I wouldn't think it would need watering. I agree with Bev.

Here she is after surgery.Luckily i wasn't able to just pull her out of the ground she was well rooted!! I removed all soft, wrinkled leaves until i came to stiff solid meaty leaves!!

Poor moma is almost as small as the babies, can she handle it or should some of them that have rooted be at least cut loose??
now!

Much better Jelinda. I think I would leave the youngsters attached, they are still pretty small. The mother will grow new leaves from the center. Must have been all that summer rain you got that started her to rot.
Nice save. Hurray!

I did loose some of the babies.I was keeping a close eye on them until a blood clot was found and again i am in the bed.I do have more of this color semp and the mother and some of the bigger babies are doing good.I have come to except that our weather this summer has been more than some plants can take.I noticed i lost a coral bell not long ago. With me being so new and it being the first time i've grown most of these plants & the problems i've dealt with, it could have been worse.

Yes it could Jelinda. But look at the bright side, the weak ones are being weeded out, leaving only the strong ones to carry on. This way you will find out which cultivars will do well for you, and which ones won't.

Jojoe sorry to hear you're having more health problems! I'm sending you lots of positive energy for healing!!
I agree with Lynn, let the plants figure it out! The ones that live are the ones which will carry on and fill in your beds! Coral bells very often spread by seed, so any that you have left may send out lots of babies! Hurray!
