If 1 spouse has celiac disease & the other does not; then if the spouse who can eat gluten does eat gluten or drink a gluten beer; then they have to brush their teeth thoroughly before kissing the spouse with celiac disease. Some people have a "shared" household where both gluten eaters & the celiac eat but that's very hard to do & there's a lot of mental stress to make sure crumbs aren't left around & no one dips a gluten utensil in the PB or oleo or mayo or mustard etc... they have to have separate toasters, cutting boards, sketti strainers ect.... Most find it easiest to have a gluten free household & the gluten eater can eat or drink gluten away from home but not in the home.
Since my hubs has celiac also (lucky us
) we have a gluten free household but we were shared for 5 months until my hubs discovered he also has celiac disease. Sort of one of those weird situations where it worked out for the best????????? BTW, 1 in 133 people has celiac disease but 90% don't know it ----yet.
