Dave and Trish

Y'all mentioned that ATP has a pot ghetto badge, but I don't see it. What does it look like? I'm all ears!

Wonderful podcast! Hurray! Thumbs up

Thanks for all y'all do here! I tip my hat to you.

(sorry that the thread title has ghetto misspelled)

Now you've got me wondering we have such a badge! I keenly remember someone asking for it at some point and I thought I had made it.

I had noticed the phrase a time or two and it never made sense. Picturing your driveway ghetto gave all the definition necessary. We need to add that one to the Glossary. Mines undergone some suburban renewal but is coming back in force. Great podcast guys and Thumbs up for the audio mixing. I've used @horseshoe Cinnamon tip on cuttings several times since reading it. Fun new feature "The Pinboard of Bad Ideas", I've got all females in the produce drawer.

Enjoyed this latest podcast. Great job as always! Thumbs up

The term "Pot Ghetto" sure made me laugh out loud! At our old house my pot ghetto was behind a big shed in the backyard; our current property is much smaller so it's a bit difficult finding places to put pots ... so now my pot ghetto is behind shrubbery along the side of the house. I've hidden so many plants beneath other plants that I'm surprised when I stumble upon something I forgot that I had and pleasantly surprised when it looks even better than when I first placed it there! Green Grin! I think most gardeners have a pot ghetto somewhere on their property.

I just purchased the badge "Gardens in Buckets" because I tend to do that when I'm short of empty pots and don't have the time to go out and buy them. We always have empty buckets in the garage from stuff my husband buys on-line for the aquarium and when we had cats I used to use the plastic litter buckets; I just get out the drill and put a few large drainage holes in the bottom of the bucket, and add potting medium.

I think we really do need a "Pot Ghetto" badge too!

Rita: your pot ghetto must be a lot nicer looking than mine if you can leave it on your driveway. Rolling on the floor laughing

It is vegetables. I grew my summer squash and my eggplants in pots on the sunny hot driveway. As the eggplants and squash are heat lovers all worked out well. But it is a LARGE pot ghetto! Hilarious!

Does using those tubs, the ones with white ropes and using them for outdoor containers (with holes) count for "gardens in buckets"? They're sort of "like" buckets? If so, then I'll have to get me that badge. Still need a pot ghetto badge though. Thumbs up

Dave and Trish - you guys are a freaking hoot! In addition to all the wonderful gardening information, you two are like a comedy team.

And laughter is so good for the soul, eh?

I made a note to go buy that badge. Good grief, I have tons of pot ghetto. Oh Dave, you have to make that badge.

Loved the info on the hackberry and walnut. Ok, I know this isn't supposed to happen but for nigh on 14 years now we have verbena, daylilies, sedum, phlox, coneflower that I can think of that grow under our walnut tree. Honest! There's not a hackberry around it either Shrug!

I can't tell you both how much I enjoy your podcasts - they just get better and better and funnier Green Grin!
