Very true. You just don't know what life may hand you. I had a backup drive fail me one time. I got lucky though. It was making all kinds of racket, so I started pulling files out. I got all my photo files out and had begun pulling my other files when it died. I lost a lot of files but thankfully no photo. Though I was pretty bummed about losing some of my files, I felt very lucky to have saved my photos. Those were the most important to me. And was why they were the first thing I started to pull.

Y'all have convinced me to order the Plantstep software for better record keeping. Now that I'm also adding roses, hydrangeas, clematis and salvias to my addictions, I need a better system than just photography and handwritten notes. Can't wait to get started! Maybe tonight.

I think a Plantstep tip thread would be handy.

You do it through your file cabinet. Which can be found on the top of the main page that opens when you start your program.
