Last winter was hard to do. I really had to push it with the exercise to loose that weight. And although I do not believe in "diets" I did watch what I ate and skipped that second helping. I do know that I do have to exercise this winter and I don't mind that. Exercise each day is good for me and I don't have to overdo it like last year. Thumbs up

Maybe I can finish by tomorrow as today I spent much of the day mulching my garden beds with Fall leaves. This is the last thing that I do out in the garden each fall and then that is it for me till spring.

The sun wants to come out from behind the clouds now but I don't think it will help the tempos much. So cold this morning. Anything in the garden that wasn't already frozen sure did get done in for sure last night. Much too cold for me! And the wind is making for really nasty wind chill temps. it had better be nicer tomorrow as I need to finish mulching my garden with the fall leaves I have been collecting and spreading out for the past two weeks.

Trish has announced all the plants weeks for 2014, see the thread in Site talk for further info. June 21-27 is vines and climbers. There will be articles needed. I do articles for daylily week and bulbs week and should be able to come up with some for veggies weeks. But I am really coming up blank for ideas for climbers week. Confused

I have lots of honeysuckle vines and a goodly amount of clematis. But I forget the names of my clems so they are mostly no IDs. I have some really lovely pics of my clematis towers. Maybe I can do something on creating a clematis tower. On the honeysuckles I just don't know. I mean I love them as vines but am not thinking of anything useful to write. Have to keep thinking.

Thanks Debra. But so far nothing is coming to me. Thing is that whatever I do needs to work with my pictures and the vines that I do grow. Sometimes when I am going thru my pictures I see a certain picture and a Garden Idea just pops in my head. Other times I think of an idea and go searching for the pics to illustrate it.

Mulched everything with the fall leaves. This is what the garden looks like in early December each year after I finish with the mulching. A sea of brown.

Some snow expected tomorrow so I am glad I have all my garden work done. Glad my mulching is done and certainly glad my bulb planting is long done. I can't imagine having to dig in the cold (and sometimes frozen) ground now to plant bulbs!

The big thing during to winter for me is exercise inside. I do lots of time on my Gazelle Glider Machine. Did 45 minutes today. Don't want to get fat over the winter! In fact I would like to lose 5 pounds.

Merry Christmas Everyone! I am dreaming of spring and planning on growing some annual vines this spring that I haven't had for some years. I used to grow them but for some reason I just haven't. Now I miss them.

My morning glories these past few years have been various colors that are volunteers but not the Heavenly Blue that I prefer. So planning on starting seeds of these, getting the real thing!

Also planning on Cardinal Climber and Cypress vine. The hummingbirds used to love the red flowers of both of these vines. I don't know why I got out of the habit of growing them but good thing for this forum. It has jogged my memories so I need to have all these vines again!
