Wow, all those beautiful daylilies. A friend of mine took me to a flea market in Alabama and we bought some beautiful ones. Here is a pretty lemony-yellow.

Oooh, I have Paper Butterfly, but mine doesn't look that dark, Sheri. That's so pretty! Do you have blooms already?

I have some buds in Massachusetts (!!) and have had 2 blooms (an unregistered hybrid from Olallie and Pinocchio) during a heat wave last week. Now all the buds look pretty cold although we dodged the bullet twice this week on frost!

I have a number of plants with scapes already too. Paper Butterfly is one of them. I think peak bloom will be earlier this year. Peak bloom here is typically mid July.

I think my daylilies usually bloom end of May or early June. That's when I bought my Paper Butterfly last year. At a flea market in Alabama. A lady sold a big bag full of them for $6. My friend and I bought like 4 different kinds and split them - because they were so big!

Joy I also have peak bloom mid July. But I have some that bloom in late May and some into October.

boojum, I do too. But a couple of those late May bloomers started blooming late April here this year. I've still got blooms on Orangeman and Lemon lily. I've never seen a daylily bloom so early here. I've had some plants that rebloomed as late as October/November, but by then it's too cool for them to open well. Rebloomers are kind of a hit and miss here anyway, except for a few, I can't count on them.

Wow! You have me beat on Orangeman and my lemon lilies which have buds! But then I am in z4-5. Sounds like we have similar taste on opposite sides of the US!

Hi Claudia. I too love Apricot Serenade. I like the soft apricots and pinks you find in a lot of Klehm/Reckamp's daylilies. I read somewhere that "Charlie" was used a lot by Brother Reckamp in his hybridizing program. Charlie is my favorite.
