For the first time this season, snow is in the weather forecast for Denver.
Sunny, mild weather in Denver and along the Front Range on Tuesday and Wednesday should change Thursday as an upper level weather disturbance out of the northwest edges its way into Colorado, according to the National Weather Service.
"Snow is expected to develop in the mountains Thursday night while areas of rain spread across the plains," the weather service reports.
Snow should continue in the mountains Friday. Weather along the Front Range, including Denver, should be cold enough for snow to mix with rain, the weather service said.
In Denver on Tuesday and Wednesday, skies will be sunny and the high temperature should climb into
the upper-70s, according to the weather service.
On Thursday in Denver, however, there's a 10 percent chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms, and the high temperature will be about 70 degrees.
On Friday the change in Denver will be pronounced, with a 40 percent chance of rain, and snow showers, before noon. Early morning temperatures in Denver on Friday morning will be in the mid- to upper-30s. The high temperature Friday in the city will be about 48 degrees under mostly cloudy skies. The overnight low Friday night could get below freezing in Denver, the weather service said, dipping down to 30 degrees.
Local weather, under sunny skies, should warm up over the weekend with the Denver high climbing back toward 70 by Sunday.
