I am going to look at the plant, talk to it and ask it what it wants me to do.

Why do you need to bring it in the house Cheryl? I have all mine planted in the ground, I used to keep them potted but they were never as happy as planted, even in huge 20+ gal pots. In small pots like yours, they tend to grow lanky.
Planted in the ground, frost takes the leaves but it always recovers and they grow quite large and full. And yes, they are easy from cuttings. I have a 7-8 foot one that I have taken cuttings from and they rarely fail if I make sure to keep the potting soil watered.

Sue. I would love to plant abuliton on my yard and watch it thrive to 7-8 feet! Unfortunately, I have a shady yard with only a fefw sunny spots. What few sunny spots I have are full up both front and back. Plants in the pot allows me to move the plants to follow the sun's pattern. Right now, if it were planted where it got some sun in the summer months, it would be more shaded. In a pot, I can move the plants to where the sun comes to me.

This new little plant came in a 4" pot just a few weeks ago. I upgraded it to it's current albeit ugly 6" landscape pot for the time being. I have decided to let the little thing winter over in a sunny window, then I will proceed to chop it up in the spring. Do you so anything special to your cuttings to get them to grow? I have waited to have this plant for so long, I cherish it and don't want to do wrong by it.

I don't do anything special to my cuttings, just stick them in a pot of soil and keep them in a shaded area. Thumbs up
