I can't believe Dave's Garden kicked Cary Peterson out for showing pictures of his seedlings! That was probably the thing I liked about their daylily forum the most!!!

Fred, Lyle, and Cindy---Your seedlings are awesome. I always enjoy seeing your pictures. Now, I need to jot down the crosses that we can make. Remember that "imitation is the best form of flattery" or it goes something like that.

Thanks for the comments!
GG- I have composted seedlings before they bloomed out due to the fact poor plant habit! I generally wait until rebloom to remove a seedling, if it is unique I will give it one more bloom season...

Lyle, after seeing your picture(s) of Sinister Minister x Green Revolution on DG we made that cross and now have seeds to plant. We have another DF of Sinister Minister coming in September. If you had not bid on the GR on the LA a few days ago, I would have bid. I hope you got it.

Yes, I am "doing my homework" and what fun daylily school is!

Fred, we are looking forward to growing and using Lillian's Lying Eyes in our hybridizing efforts next year. You have produced some spectacular seedlings from LLE.

I went ahead and created a forum for seedlings. I had one when I first created the forum, but I must have had 20 forums and it was to confusing. This way, Lyle, Fred, Cary, Cindy or anyone else can have their own thread if they want so they can keep an entire seasons seedling photos together so they can come back and view them for reference etc. Sort of like a photo album. I moved this Back Yard Hybridizer's seedling thread here... we can use it for the general thread #1... ok? Sound good?

oh, and I added a photo of a seedling bed to the Forum so when new people come - this thread will stand out a little more. I'll go back and add one to the daylily discussion forum too.... I will probably rotate that photo every now and then, so that it is not always the same type of daylily.

Doris - I feel Green Revolution has a lot to offer in anyone's program. This is a cross from "09" that has held well, and was used this last spring....

Thanks Juli - You have done a great job with this site!

This was a great thread. Is there a 2013 version?

I had the links added for all of them but then I backspaced and when I went forward again it erased it all Blinking so you will have to scroll through the threads and find them. sorry. Maybe someone else will come back and post the links

To answer your question yes there is but they are called something different

in 2011 it was still called back yard hybridizers with #2 - #4 and in 2012 it was seedling progress (up to #8) and then in 2013 it was seedlings April 2013 (or whatever month is was) up until August I believe

There are other threads that individuals posted all of their seedlings in and didn't put them in the seedling threads so you may want to look for those also. I tried typing in seedling in the search on the right of the page but it doesn't bring up all the seedling pages so you may just want to scroll all the threads to find them.

Oooh! getting ready for work, but just had to read quickly through this thread! This is a great thread that I thoroughly enjoyed going through! Wow! Some great hybrids!

Maybe next summer we should have 2 different backyard hybridizers seedling threads. #1 would be for round forms like Fred does and #2 would be for ufo/spiders.

Going back to the very beginning of this thread, I just noticed something in the Lily auction -- the second picture in this thread is of a seedling that Fred (Spunky1) has up for auction right now -- and a triple fan to boot! So if anyone is interested, hustle on over to the LA and check it out!

I've been checking Fred's auctions because he recently had two of Liz Salter's 2013's that I've been looking for, and I won DF's at a great price!
